Young Eagles Club members fly the RC model airplanes they built

May 23, 2023

On Sunday May 21st our Young Eagles Club members were hosted by the Little Finger Thermaliers
Radio Control Sailplane Club
at their field in Maple City to fly the RC model airplanes they've been building over the winter. These airplanes were built from kits purchased by the chapter and equipped with RC equipment donated by local RC modeler and chapter member Fred Page, who also led each of the build teams through the project over the winter.

We're excited to offer this program to local youth as an inexpensive means of learning about airplanes and the mechanics of flight. RC model airplanes are also a lifetime hobby for many adults as well as exampled by the RC modelers who gathered at the field to watch and advise our kids as they flew for the first time.

If you're interested in further RC Model flying, the RC modelers meet every Wednesday evening during the summer (weather permitting) at their field on Maple City Rd South of M-72 (adjacent to Stevens Propane). To know if they're flying or not check their Facebook page at Little Finger Thermaleers - LIFT | Maple City MI | Facebook or contact Fred Page at fred@fhpage.com
